Git3 ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service, which enables decentralized storage of Git repositories on the Irys blockchain.

By using Git3, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use our service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • GitHub Account Data: When you connect your GitHub account via OAuth, we access your public repository information, commit history, and file contents necessary to import repositories to the blockchain.
  • Wallet Information: When you connect a Web3 wallet, we access your wallet address for blockchain transactions. We do not store private keys or seed phrases.
  • Repository Data: Content from repositories you choose to import, including code, commit messages, and file metadata.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our service, including pages visited, commands executed, and features used.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information, and other technical identifiers.
  • Blockchain Data: Transaction hashes, blockchain addresses, and on-chain repository metadata stored on Irys.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, and improve our service
  • To process repository imports and blockchain transactions
  • To authenticate your GitHub account and manage OAuth sessions
  • To facilitate wallet connections and blockchain interactions
  • To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • To monitor and analyze usage patterns and trends
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or security threats
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

4. Data Storage and Blockchain

Git3 stores repository data on the Irys blockchain, a decentralized, permanent storage network. Once data is uploaded to Irys:

  • Data becomes publicly accessible and immutable on the blockchain
  • Data cannot be deleted or modified once stored
  • Data is cryptographically verified and timestamped
  • We do not control or operate the Irys network

Important: By importing a repository to Git3, you acknowledge that the repository content will become permanently stored on a public blockchain and cannot be removed.

5. Third-Party Services

We integrate with the following third-party services:

5.1 GitHub

We use GitHub OAuth to authenticate your account and access repository data. Your use of GitHub is subject to GitHub's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

5.2 Irys Network

Repository data is stored on the Irys blockchain network. Irys operates independently, and we are not responsible for Irys network operations or data availability.

5.3 Web3 Wallets

Wallet connections are managed through Thirdweb SDK. We do not store or have access to your private keys or seed phrases. All wallet interactions occur locally in your browser.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:

  • OAuth tokens are stored securely and encrypted
  • We use industry-standard security practices for API communications
  • We do not store private keys or sensitive wallet information
  • Access to your GitHub account is limited to necessary scopes

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request access to personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to blockchain immutability)
  • Portability: Request transfer of your data to another service
  • Objection: Object to processing of your personal information
  • Withdrawal: Withdraw consent for data processing where applicable

Note: Data stored on the Irys blockchain cannot be deleted due to blockchain immutability. You can disconnect your GitHub account and wallet at any time through the Git3 interface.

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Maintain your authentication session
  • Store your preferences and settings
  • Analyze service usage and performance

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect service functionality.

9. Children's Privacy
