Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Git3 ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

Git3 is a decentralized platform that enables users to store Git repositories permanently on the Irys blockchain. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

2. Description of Service

Git3 provides:

  • Integration with GitHub for repository access and import
  • Web3 wallet connectivity for blockchain transactions
  • Permanent storage of Git repositories on the Irys blockchain
  • Query and retrieval of on-chain repository data
  • Terminal-based interface for interacting with repositories
  • Integration with x402 protocol for monetization and agent interoperability

3. User Accounts and Authentication

3.1 GitHub Account

To use Git3, you must connect a GitHub account via OAuth. By connecting your GitHub account, you:

  • Grant Git3 permission to access your public repositories and commit history
  • Authorize Git3 to read repository content necessary for blockchain storage
  • Agree to comply with GitHub's Terms of Service
  • Are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account

3.2 Web3 Wallet

Blockchain transactions require a Web3 wallet connection. By connecting your wallet, you:

  • Are solely responsible for wallet security and private key management
  • Understand that Git3 does not store or have access to your private keys
  • Agree to pay all blockchain transaction fees (gas costs) for your transactions
  • Accept responsibility for all transactions initiated through your connected wallet

4. Blockchain Storage and Immutability

CRITICAL UNDERSTANDING: When you import a repository to Git3:

  • The repository content is permanently stored on the Irys blockchain
  • Data becomes publicly accessible and cannot be deleted or modified
  • Data is cryptographically verified and timestamped
  • You cannot remove or edit repository data once it is stored on-chain
  • Repository data may be accessible indefinitely, even if you disconnect your account

By importing a repository, you acknowledge and accept that the content will be permanently and publicly stored on a decentralized blockchain network.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Only import repositories for which you have proper authorization and rights
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Not use the Service for illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purposes
  • Not upload content that infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Not upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful software
  • Not attempt to disrupt, damage, or interfere with the Service
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to repository content you import. By importing content, you grant Git3 and the Irys network the necessary rights to store and serve your content on the blockchain.

6.2 Git3 Service

The Git3 platform, including its software, design, and documentation, is owned by Git3 and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without explicit permission.

7. Fees and Payments

Git3 may charge fees for certain services or features. You are responsible for:

  • All blockchain transaction fees (gas costs) for storing repositories
  • Any fees associated with Irys network storage
  • Service fees as disclosed at the time of use
  • Ensuring your wallet has sufficient funds for transactions

All fees are non-refundable unless required by applicable law. Fees may change with notice.

8. Third-Party Services

Git3 integrates with third-party services:

8.1 GitHub

Your use of GitHub integration is subject to GitHub's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Git3 is not responsible for GitHub's services or policies.

8.2 Irys Network

Repository storage relies on the Irys blockchain network. Git3 is not responsible for Irys network availability, performance, or data integrity. Irys operates independently.

8.3 Web3 Wallets

Wallet functionality is provided by third-party wallet providers. Git3 is not responsible for wallet security, availability, or functionality.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations

9.1 Service Availability

Git3 is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Accuracy or completeness of data
  • Security or privacy of transmitted data
  • Compatibility with all devices or browsers

9.2 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Git3 shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
  • Service interruptions or failures
  • Blockchain network issues or failures
  • Unauthorized access to your accounts or data
  • Errors or omissions in repository content

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Git3, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Content you import or store
  • Violation of these Terms
  • Infringement of any rights of another party
  • Your violation of applicable laws

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activity
  • Requests by law enforcement or government agencies
  • Extended periods of inactivity
  • Any other reason we deem necessary

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. However, data stored on the Irys blockchain remains permanently accessible and cannot be removed.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through appropriate legal channels.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and posting the revised Terms. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Git3 regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
